Course details

OSH/Unit Standard – Full Course

Our standard course covers OSH, Unit Standard 10851 and Driver Licence Endorsement “F” requirements but for company group courses this can be modified to accommodate specific requirements (eg such as excluding the “F” endorsement part).

The full course takes one day with approximately 4 – 5 hours being devoted to theory followed by practical training and assessment.

All trainees receive and work from our “Forklift Operator Training Handbook” – a professionally produced comprehensive training resource with illustrations.

Course numbers are normally restricted to 10 trainees.

Trainee Requirements

Our one day course is designed for trainees who have had some prior experience in operating forklifts. If a trainee is inexperienced then a longer course would be arranged. (Please note: Additional training will incur additional costs.)

OSH Forklift Refresher Courses

OSH Forklift Operator Certificates are valid for 3 years. A Forklift Operator should on or before the expiry of his/her certification attend an OSH Refresher courses.

Master Drive Services OSH Refresher courses are ½ day courses which include some theory followed by practical training and assessment.

Refresher courses are normally limited to 10 trainees.

No unit standards apply to Refresher Courses.

“F” Driver Licence Endorsement

Whilst this course is normally included in the full forklift course it can be conducted on its own. Due to very few people completing this course on its own it is normally done on a one to one basis.

It involves a theory paper and a short practical and can normally be completed in about 1 hour.

Please note:

• An “F” Driver Licence endorsement is required for any person who is required to drive a forklift on a road.
• The entry criteria for Unit Standard 18496 (“F” endorsement) requires that trainees must hold a current full Class 1 (car) driver licence

Course Venues/Frequency

We run regular “public” courses at Master Drive Services branches. If numbers are sufficient we will run courses at a client’s premises for that company’s staff.

Continuity

As we deliver the same courses throughout the country in the event that a local instructor is not available for any reason we can bring in a replacement instructor who can deliver the same course thus ensuring consistency of content and quality.

Instructors

Our forklift instructors are New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) approved Driving Instructors, Accredited Workplace Assessors and Dept of Labour (via Competenz ITO) registered forklift instructors.
